Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE)
At Bella Vista Public School, we are committed to recognising and nurturing the abilities of all our students through high potential and gifted education. Our approach ensures that every child is encouraged and challenged to achieve their best, no matter their learning style or strengths.
We understand that some students excel in certain areas, such as creative thinking, leadership, or sport. Our staff use evidence-based approaches to spot and develop these talents, helping students thrive across all subjects.
By embedding high potential and gifted education in everything we do, we create a supportive environment where students feel valued and motivated. Our school partners with families to provide individual support, helping each student to grow, discover new possibilities, and reach their goals.

What is high potential and gifted education?
Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs. This involves identifying students who learn quickly, think creatively, demonstrate leadership, or excel in various areas such as academics, arts, and sports.
We offer targeted support during lessons to ensure that each student’s unique strengths and goals are recognised and nurtured. By providing a wide range of opportunities both inside and outside the home base, we encourage students to explore their interests and deepen their learning.
Through this combination of quality instruction, effective teaching practices, and personalised support, we are committed to ensuring that all students with high potential and gifted abilities are challenged, motivated, and empowered to achieve their best.
We do this through:
- effective teaching strategies like enrichment, extension and acceleration
- tailored support during lessons that stretch, challenge and inspire
- access to a wide range of opportunities both within and beyond our school.
